Sustainability

Our Responsibility

Sustainability is a matter of course for us. When selecting our fabric suppliers and contractual partners, we attach particular importance to compliance with minimum standards and applicable environmental norms. We produce exclusively under fair conditions in Europe.

Short transport routes

Since we produce in Europe, we do not use environmentally harmful sea routes and can avoid long transport distances. As a family business, we know our producers personally, allowing us to guarantee fair working conditions and ensure trusting relationships and long-term cooperation.

No harmful chemicals

Our jeans are dyed exclusively with organic, completely harmless dyes. Therefore, GlücksStern jeans do not need to be washed before the first wear. However, some very dark-dyed jeans may rub off slightly during the first wear. But don't worry, the dye is by no means toxic; it is merely fresh on the surface of the fabric.

Toxfree production

Our jeans are produced using eco-friendly washing processes and gentle manufacturing technologies, which conserves valuable resources such as water and energy. In addition, we drastically reduce the consumption of chemicals through the use of state-of-the-art laser technologies.
Accessories such as buttons, rivets, and labels are sourced entirely from Europe, and from Germany whenever available. All components are free from harmful substances and nickel.

Certified organic cotton

Our organic cotton is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. This standard is recognized worldwide and includes strict ecological and social guidelines that are checked and documented across all processing steps. No insecticides are used in cotton production.

Cellulose Fibers & Recycled Polyester

We use cellulose fibers such as TENCEL™ Lyocell, Modal or Viscose. They are all made from wood from sustainable forestry and are biodegradable. They also have special properties, such as high wearing comfort and durability.

We use recycled polyester instead of new material. Recycled polyester has completely identical properties to newly manufactured polyester. However, waste, energy and CO2 emissions are saved during material production.

Hemp & reused cotton

Our collection, made entirely of natural fibers, consists of a special cotton-hemp blend. This fabric is not only 100% biodegradable but also super comfortable and soft. In addition, hemp cultivation is environmentally friendly and resource-efficient.

Reused cotton refers to fine cotton flakes that fall off during the spinning process. They are collected and then processed into cotton yarns in a special spinning process.

About Us

Passionate about details since 2015

As a small business, all orders are packed by hand by us in our warehouse in Ostrach and shipped from there. As a dynamic team, collaboration is very important to us, so it's not surprising that the working atmosphere is also very familiar.

our company

In 2015, GlücksStern started as a family business with headquarters in the rural village of Ostrach in Upper Swabia, not far from Lake Constance. Kevin Giesler established sustainability as part of the company's DNA from the very beginning.
His ambition:
a high-quality and sustainable denim brand for women with that special detail. Since then, the company has been built up piece by piece.

Our Collections

We release a new collection four times a year, each suitable for spring/summer and autumn/winter. These are designed at the headquarters in Ostrach. The process from the first sketch to the finished product involves a series of complex steps. Inspiration comes not only from the fashion world but also from the nearby Lake Constance with its idyllic landscape. The prototypes are first handcrafted and optimized before being produced in Europe.

The Perfect Fit

We attach great importance to the cut, so that every woman can find something that suits her. For this purpose, we exclusively use organically grown fabrics to ensure maximum comfort and shape retention. Each fit has its own unique character and is given a distinctive name, which can, among other things, be supplemented with the addition BEA (=Bein Anders in der Schnittführung/leg different in the cut).
